Rape face >:D 0:18. This was never dubbed? How come Paprika was dubbed then? It was made by the same person right? But then again the Kekko Kamen Live Action movie was also never dubbed unlike the Cutey Honey and Devilman Live Action movies but the Kekko Kamen one also sucks big time which could be the reason why. I lose more than I gain when watching a subtitled anime? Sometimes I prefer subs over dubs like with Attack on Titan and Kanokon since the dub of those series sucks or is mediocre. Most of the time you are only going to find an anime subbed if you watch anime online. My most favorite animes like Magipoka and To Love Ru never got a dub but I still enjoy it. I would say Paprika is my favorite Satoshi Kon anime but to be honest it's the only film of his that I wanted to watch and have seen. Gomenesai! Gomenesai! NO NO NO NO! GABE! SHUT HIM OFF! Go ahead Gabe, touch that keyboard. See what happens. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO! Merry Christmas Bennet. HAHAHAHA! NOOOOOOO.

Movie tokyo godfathers - l c3 b6yt c3 lapsen arvoitus karaoke. Movie tokyo godfathers - l c3 b6yt c3 lapsen arvoitus dj. An alcloholic. Honestly your critique of dub vs sub is incredible for me to hear as an aspiring translator. that being said, not japanese >eng but german>english, but it is far too easy to forget what the monolingual/naive viewer is thinking, so this is fantastic advice. thank you. Cringed when I decided to watch it with my brother, but it was amazing.

Movie tokyo godfathers - l c3 b6yt c3 lapsen arvoitus remix. So, it's based around the lives of 3 homeless people who are trying to save a baby. This sets up a story of coincidences, love, sadness, regret. The characters are fantastic and have depth, the snowy japanese city scenes are simultaneously beautiful and run down. The story is unrealistic, but the message of the film is more about people who want to do good despite terrible events and hardship, and regret. Not an animation for under 20's. I really loved its originality and the way the story revolves around three people that hate themselves and are discarded by society. A great film.

Reviewed in the United States on November 28, 2018 Format: Prime Video Verified Purchase There were no subtitles for this Japanese-language film. English translation needed. Hopefully, this is resolved soon, because I think a lot of people would enjoy this movie! Reviewed in the United States on January 21, 2018 Format: Blu-ray Verified Purchase Yeah, this movie was really good. All the characters were excellent in the story and the story itself was just awesome. I thought a movie about three homeless people finding a child would be boring, but I was surprised that it was much better then I expected. I really liked how they made the homo sexual of the trio the strongest character where most people are expecting a physically weak character which was awesome writing among many other parts. In the end, you discover what is special about the child, but I don't want to say more to spoil it. There are also bonus features on the BluRay which was a nice in how they made the movie. All in all it's a solid buy. It's a movie definitely worth having as you can watch it over and over again. There aren't any robots or big fight scenes, but there is a little blood and gun scene to keep it interesting, but most importantly is the characters and story that are so good. There are also good amounts of humor through out the whole movie. Again, solid writing. I would definitely recommend it. Reviewed in the United States on November 28, 2018 Format: Prime Video Verified Purchase unfortunately no English subtitle for now... I can understand Japanese, but please make subtitles for everyone. because this is such a great movie... my forever favorite. it's anime but this is a wonderful movie. every characters has deep stories, but also funny and enjoyable!! it telling you "being parents is not same as having a baby"... all voice actors are great, story and animation are awesome... highly recommend!! Reviewed in the United States on January 26, 2019 Format: DVD Verified Purchase I did not immediately fall in love with this story, but at a certain point, I was hooked and I am really glad I bought it. I had read a review about it and I thought it sounded intriguing. It was, and much more. The tagline (in English, at least) is "Meet the ultimate dysfunctional family. " It's brilliant and accurate. A trio of homeless misfits find a baby in a pile of garbage. Despite their own personal misfortunes, they decide they must take care of the baby... and, as the story progresses, find its parents. This takes them on a journey throughout Tokyo in which we discover how they ended up in the situation they did. The animation at first did not strike me as great. But as I got hooked into the story, I realized how brilliant it was. The animators accurately captured hundreds of facial expressions, so much so that you could easily empathize with any of the characters in the film. At first I was put off by the constant yelling and screaming among the trio. I hear this all the time on Japanese TV, where directors obviously believe that by having characters scream at each other in one-note angry voices, they are creating "drama. " Since I didn't really know where the story was going, I just thought, "Okay, a typical Japanese drama with excessive screaming. " But as the story continued, there were numerous shades to each of the performances and you could see that this homeless trio were very rich in backstory. Some story details were unclear, convoluted or contradictory to things that had already been said/happened. Some moments were predictable and other plot points were way, way too convenient. Also, even though I watched the film with subtitles, it was completely unclear to me why it was necessary to have a foreign couple in the film for a brief period of time since it did not help the story in any particular way. That said, it did allow for one hysterically funny moment in which the young female member of the trio utilizes the only four words of English that she knows. I forgave the predictability and the screaming, because there was a lot of legitimate drama and action and laughs and gasps and tears. It was an enjoyable experience and I will watch it again in the future. Not perfect, but still, enjoyable. Reviewed in the United States on January 6, 2019 Format: Blu-ray Verified Purchase One Christmas Eve, three homeless people – a middle-aged alcoholic named Gin, a trans woman and former drag queen Hana, and a dependent runaway girl Miyuki – discover an abandoned newborn while searching through the garbage. What happens later changes everyone's lives and sets these three homeless people on the path to redemption. A surprisingly great film! Not a film for young children however, as there is some strong language and the overall film is very dark at times with many mature adult themes. Initially I wasn't sure about this film but decided to take a chance on it anyway and purchase it - and I am glad I did. Both my wife and I really enjoyed this film and it's story. Highly recommended! Reviewed in the United States on October 13, 2017 Format: Blu-ray Verified Purchase Even though it says region b on the back it worked on my u. s. playstation 3! Enjoy Satoshi Kon fans! I hope Umbrella entertainment release millennium actress next! Reviewed in the United States on December 24, 2017 Format: Blu-ray Verified Purchase This is one of the most surprisingly uplifting Christmas tales to come out of the Anime world. The story is poinient, filled with the tragedy of lives wasted and the inspiration of wasted lives redeemed. The dialogue was so well done and natural we found ourselves laughing, crying, and on the edge of our seets everywhere in between. The story shows what happens when the most unlikely of heros collide head on with the conspicuous hand of divine providence. If you want a christmas story that leaves you filled with thankfulness and good cheer, break out Tokyo Godfathers. Reviewed in the United States on March 20, 2018 Format: DVD Verified Purchase An absolute classic that I love to replay over and over. I saw it by accident one day a few years ago on HBO and instantly fell in love with it and had to get it on DVD. I got it from a local thrift shop in town where I lived then but I lost it somehow and had to get it again. That's how good it is for me. Although, I will say I was a little scared when I saw that the DVD was in Thai. I didn't think it would be able to play in my DVD player but the one that I got was region free. Some of the best money I've ever spent. Top international reviews 5. 0 out of 5 stars Great Film, not so good release unfortunately...... Reviewed in the United Kingdom on February 21, 2018 Format: Blu-ray Verified Purchase Such a great film that it really deserves a better release than this one - it should be treated with the respect it fully deserves with enhanced picture quality and sound as this version isn't the best Blu-Ray picture quality I've ever seen and the release is a cheaply done one and not much better than DVD to be honest which is a huge shame. The only reason I've given it 5 stars is for the actual film as I'm pretty sure that Umbrella could have done a proper HD Blu-Ray release with a bit of effort, if not then let's hope that someone like All The Anime do a real release as they have done with Perfect Blue (another excellent Satoshi Kon film). Probably the best Christmas themed film you'll ever see - definitely the best animated one that's for sure. 2 people found this helpful Sending feedback... Thank you for your feedback. Reviewed in the United Kingdom on July 27, 2018 Verified Purchase From the point of view of animation, I am sorry that satoshi Kon has died so young, because this develops from his previous work and IMO is really top rate. He would I think have gone on to do some more fantastic things. This is VERY unlike most Japanese works, focusing on bizarre outsiders who live on the street, and a little baby. The story is hardly credible but it doesn't matter. Great animation and knowing humour, and lots to think about too in this look at the seamier side of neat and tidy uptight Tokyo that visitors normally see. One person found this helpful Satoshi Kon was a genius (enough said) Reviewed in the United Kingdom on June 3, 2019 Verified Purchase I bought a used copy of Tokyo Godfathers from Music Magpie and honestly shout out to them they are so consistent, the DVDs I've bought from them are also in such great condition and it arrives within such a quick time frame. Also this film is magnificent as you would expect from a Satoshi Kon feature the animation is stunning, the story is amazingly paced and those transition scenes though T^T Satoshi Kon was literally a genius in animation and true pioneer in anime, he will be missed by so many. 4. 0 out of 5 stars Tokyo Godfathers Reviewed in the United Kingdom on February 26, 2011 Verified Purchase `Tokyo Godfathers' is another great anime film from Satoshi Kon. When three homeless people in Tokyo find an abandoned baby their lives are turned upside down as they struggle to look after her and find her parents. A variety of seemingly unrelated events come together until the film reaches it's heart warming and satisfying ending. Traipsing all over Tokyo they follow various clues in their hunt for the babies parents, whilst their own life stories unfold before us. The dysfunctional homeless family make for humorous viewing, with an old geezer for the dad, a flamboyant gay man as the mother and a bitter, yet sensitive, girl as the `daughter'. There's makes for a complex but touching family relationship. The animation is very good and whilst not as lush or beautiful as Ghibli films, this is more gritty and realistic. This film has a 12 certificate, but this is an animated film aimed more at adults. The themes, language and some scenes are more adult orientated that other anime films out there. This feels quite bleak at times due to the winter landscapes and muted colours, as well as the storyline in general. But, it is very well made and everything comes together perfectly at the end. If you are a fan of anime films in general then this should please you and if you a fan of Satoshi Kon in particular, then this should leave you delighted. A worthy addition to your anime film collection. It finds the right balance being not too sentimental or moralising. That the major characters are homeless is not an invitation for the makers to preach about society and inequality. They are homeless for different reasons and even though they may have their faults I found it very easy to sympathise with them and like them. They are very human. A 12 certificate is deserved not just because the content involves some quite adult issues but there is no dubbing and subtitles are not every youngsters cup of tea. I found the story quite spiritual with possible divine intervention here and there. But, it is not Christian or Shinto or preaching anything. I did wonder why such a story was animated. But the animation creates an artistic interpretation of reality which is almost subliminal. Every frame of film has been created and analysed to invoke a mood and I was left in a very fine mood indeed with the movie's amounts of humour, pathos and drama balanced in equal proportions. I was looking for alternatives after finishing Studio Ghibli's ouevre and this is the first of Satoshi Kon's movies I have seen - I will be watching more. A truly heart-warming anime and feel good classic Reviewed in the United Kingdom on May 9, 2011 Verified Purchase From the late and great director Satoshi Kon (director of Perfect Blue, another stunning and must see anime film. ) comes this absolutely brilliant and heart-warming anime film of three homeless people (Hana who is an optimistic drag queen, Gin who is a pessimistic alcoholic and Miyuki who is a teenage runaway still quite new to the streets. ) who find an abandoned infant on a junk pile on Christmas Eve and go on an epic quest across Tokyo to find her real mother. The plot follows these three citizens of the streets on their christmas journey with this infant and along the way discover what actually caused them to be where they now and how they must learn to stay together through the cold or be alone in the dark. It is a very well written story that has a very heart-warming aura to it which is helped by some good and well-timed humour along the way. That's not to say it doesn't show the darker side of the streets, because it dose at times deal with the darker and sometimes more violent subjects that the homeless face every day living on the streets, even if the film is mostly an optimistic romp at its soul. The unique cast of characters themselves are instantly very likable and also very well written and the Japanese voice actors do a fantastic job in breathing emotion in to them and bring them to life. It also boosts a great soundtrack which helps set the emotional tones at every step of the way very well. The animation is also a big highlight as it is simply beautiful. This is a film that uses colour beautifully to show the cold streets of Tokyo that these people walk along but the true highlight is within the character animations which really must be praised. The animators have done a very impressive job in not only designing the characters but showing there expressions and emotions in a realistically manner, which is something you rarely find in other anime films and series and it ends up giving the film a unique and fresh feel about it which I for one really liked. The film is around an hour and a half long but despite this running time I did feel like it could have been paced out a little more, and there are several big events that feel far too coincidental at times but these are only a few minor complaints in an otherwise brilliant film. For those who are wondering, this DVD does not have an English dub of the film like many other animes come with and comes only with the original Japanese track along with a Spanish one, both with subtitles. There will be some who may not like this fact, but I personally don't mind the lack of dub as in my opinion the Japanese cast is normally always superior to the English dubs in quality. The DVD also lacks any real extras bar some trailers, which is a shame as some interviews really would not have gone a miss. All in all, Tokyo Godfathers is a brilliant and beautifully directed film witch may start with a dark and near depressing premise but soon turns in to something quite heart-warming and near magical. This is a must watch for anime fans, those who enjoy Christmas films and for fans of feel good story's in general. A masterpiece... Reviewed in the United Kingdom on February 10, 2019 Verified Purchase What can I add that hasn't been written here in the +100 reviews already? Chance encounters, fatum, fortuna is a major theme in this movie and drives the plot. It's a metaphysical thing, perhaps even divine intervention. Goes deeper than you'd expect. Uplifting. An outcasts saga Reviewed in the United Kingdom on December 3, 2017 Format: Blu-ray Verified Purchase Japanese animation as it’s best. A convincing, earthly story about three outsiders. There is not sentimentality here, but a lot humor and criticism again modern society and human reconciliation. A must see movie for adults. You will get one or two positive thoughts. 3 people found this helpful Excellent animation, excellent story. Reviewed in the United Kingdom on November 7, 2015 Verified Purchase Not for little kids- adult themes. You will need English subtitles unless you speak Japanese. Has a proper ending: the city of Tokyo, which is the 4th protagonist, bows to you, the audience; as if it is an actor on the stage, and it sings Beethoven's 'ode to joy' (in Japanese) in the voices of all its inhabitants. Why are brilliant movies like this a secret and I only get to know of them by reading reviews on amazon, and there is crap on TV every night? well, it's a good job there's Amazon and its peeps. 1. 0 out of 5 stars advertise correctly Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 29, 2018 Verified Purchase I know I should not put this for a product review, but I do wish listings could be properly described. Right up there with my favourite animations, and makes fantastic Christmas film. Subtitles only. Reviewed in the United Kingdom on November 29, 2018 Verified Purchase I was certain this was an English language version when I ordered it, was very disappointed that it was just subtitles. I never order anything with subtitles as I have an eye condition that does not allow me to read them. one of the best anime titles around Reviewed in the United Kingdom on July 31, 2008 Verified Purchase I purchased this title when I was looking for something different from the normal robot/creature anime that is so abbundant. This film is is so "real" in its themes of true to life story telling that you soon forget that its feature is funny, sad, thought provoking, and a delight to you like your manga high adreniline none stop action then go elsewhere, but you would be missing a gem of a version of the film has no english/usa dubbing, but the emotions brought out by the original japanese voice actors are superb... Brilliant Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 18, 2015 Verified Purchase Absolutely LOVE this film! Amazed to discover a Christmas anime, and equally amazed to find it's the best Christmas film I've ever watched! Better than all the stalwarts wheeled out on TV every year by a long way - faultless entertainment, fantastic animation, action, comedy, and a heartwarming Christmas message underneath it all. Not what I was expecting from an anime! good fun Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 9, 2010 Verified Purchase I really loved this dvd. The animation is great and the story is funny and engaging. I guess the rating is high due to some of the adult jokes and the partial nudity (breast feeding scenes, not vulgar scenes). The characters are funny, likeable and the way they interact with each other and the world around them is fun to watch. They're always being sarcastic with each other but they care about one another. It's a fun feel-good movie which my whole family enjoyed. It's more like a movie than a cartoon. Report abuse.

Technically, Christmas lasts until Epiphany so it does fall within Christmas even though it begins on Christmas and ends on New Year's. I would suggest that this time frame makes perfect sense as the Trio can be read as the Magi, whose arrival is commemorated on Epiphany, 12 days after Christmas day. This video has been recommended to me for the past 2 years at the most random times. What is YouTube trying to tell me. This review was cheesy AF.
